Mary Ruth Tucker, 80, of Clarkston, GA died Wednesday, December 17, 2008. She retired from DeKalb County School System after 25 years of service. She worked at Sunset Acres Elementary School in Shreveport, LA and was also the PTA president. Mrs. Tucker was a long time member of Clarkston United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, excellent cook, Atlanta Braves fan and known by all for her gentle, soft and caring disposition. She was preceded in death by her husband James Tucker, who died in 1990. Surviving her are her sons, John and Vivien Tucker of Evansville, IN, Terry Tucker of Clarkston, GA, Steve and Jeaneen Tucker of Blythewood, SC; sister, Virgie Bozeman of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20th at 11:00 A.M. at Clarkston United Methodist Church with Rev. Ellen Hopkins officiating. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Clarkston United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice. Friends are invited to visit with the family Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
