Mary Sanger Riggs

Mary Cornelius 'Connie' Sanger Riggs, 81, passed peacefully to Heaven on February 15, 2008 after a long and courageous battle. Wife of the late Charles 0. Riggs, Sr., she is survived by her son, Charles 0. Riggs, Jr. and his wife Cathy, two grandchildren Courtney and Clarissa Riggs, brother Charles 'Buddy' Oswald Sanger Jr., and sister Page King Sanger. Born in Marietta, Georgia to Charles Oswald and Margaret M. Couper Sanger, she was a cherished wife, beloved mother and adored Oma. She was a Daughter of the Confederacy, as well as a retiree from the United States Government. She lived in Doraville, Georgia for 47 years and was an avid gardener, a life long University of Georgia football fan, a great cook and a wonderful person to love and be loved by. A private graveside service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta GA, 30319 or the American Cancer Society. She is now home to forever toil in the eternal light of Heaven?s glorious gardens. We love you Oma and you will be remembered forever.
