Mary Shauna Lunsford

Mary Shauna Colley Lunsford, 61, of Avondale Estates, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Born December 11, 1955, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of Drayton Bernard and Florence Joan Mikula Colley. Mary Shauna earned degrees from Georgia State and Mercer University. She was blessed to find a calling in her second career as a kindergarten teacher at Montclair Elementary School. Mary Shauna loved and respected her students and did her best to provide a strong foundation for their futures.

Mary Shauna is survived by her husband Jeff Lunsford; sister, Denise Taglia and her husband Victor; niece Angela Taglia(Matt Silliman) and nephew Steven Taglia(Cate).

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday April 7, at A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur , Georgia. The funeral mass will take place at 11am, Saturday April 8, at St. Thomas More. Internment will held at North Atlanta Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Mary Shauna Lunsford Memorial Fund, Montclair Elementary School PTA, 1680 Clairmont Place NE, Atlanta, 30329.
