On Sunday, March 28, 2021, Matthew George Wynne, loving husband to Ronda Darlene and father of Emily Catherine, passed away at the age of 60. Matthew was born on February 8, 1961 in Heidelberg, Germany to John Thomas and Dorothy Marie (Rolling) Wynne.
An active member of the ROTC, he was appointed a Reserved Commissioned Officer in 1983. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1984, advancing on to Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Next for Matthew was Airborne and Ranger Schools, followed by his first duty station at Fort Carson, Colorado. Additional assignments were at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a Company Commander, and Combat Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany. Major Matthew Wynne received an honorable discharge from the military January 14, 2008 at Fort McPherson, Georgia.
He worked with the state department for a year before opening his own business with his wife, which they successfully ran for five years. Matthew had a passion for cars and tools, channeling that into a career that concluded last week with N.A. Williams Company, Inc.
On June 22, 1985, he married Ronda Darlene Loebrick. Together, they raised their daughter, Emily Catherine Wynne (as well as numerous cats and dogs throughout their 40 years together).
Matthew had the core beliefs of integrity and helping others, and he was generous with his time and expertise. He was known for his quick wit, his dry sense of humor, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Matthew`s greatest pride and joy in life was his daughter Emily.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father John; his mother Dottie, and his brother Mark; sister-in-law Irene Wynne; brother-in-law Tony Smith and niece Chalyse Koshikawa. He is survived by his wife Ronda; his daughter Emily; brothers John, Charlie, Tim (Linda), Tom, Terry (Julie) Wynne, Barbara Hanson and Pat Smith; sister-in-law MeloDee French; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
