Medora Elizabeth Ginn

November 5, 1927 — May 24, 2013

Elizabeth (Bess) Talbert Ginn died May 24, 2013 at Cobblestone at Park Springs after a long illness. She was born November 5, 1927 in LaGrange GA, the daughter of Jefferson Davis Talbert, Jr. and Irene Lovelace Talbert. She attended Wesleyan College and graduated from Auburn University, as well as earned a Master's Degree from Emory University as a Media Specialist. A lifelong Methodist, Bess was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Decatur, GA and the Seekers Class for 47 years. During her more than 30-year career as a librarian, she worked at the Atlanta Public Library, the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library and Agnes Scott College. She was an avid reader and devoted fan of The Masters, Auburn University and the Atlanta Braves. Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Grover, who died in 2001, and is survived by sons, Grover Clinton Ginn, Jr. and Jack Talbert Ginn; daughters-in-law, Jenny Guilbert Ginn and Jodie Golden Ginn; grandsons, Thomas, Nicholas, Jason and Avery, all of Atlanta; and sister-in-law, Leonora Ginn of Barnesville. The family is grateful to her friends for their love and support and especially to her Cobblestone and hospice nurses and caregiver, Jeneba, who were always so kind and compassionate. A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove on Saturday, June 1 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Building or Library funds at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
