Melvin Earnest Golding

Melvin Earnest Golding, Jr. died Thursday, June 21, 2012. Mr. Golding retired from Georgia Power Company after 43 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Earnest Golding III; brother, Eugene Golding; sisters, Blanche Wood and Ellen King. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hargrove Golding; daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Mary Jane Hawthorne and Gary Pinson and Daine Cecile Golding and Wayne Sargent; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Hulme and Robin Golding, Kenneth Harland and Suzy Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara Golding; sister, Sarah Golding Goss; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Honea Jung; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Decatur First United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Sunday with Dr. David Naglee officiating. Interment will be in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to D. E. A. M., 515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. A. S.
