Fisherman extraordinaire, jewelry maker, wood worker, Scout Master, river keeper, carpenter and just a creative and super guy passed on from this life on Saturday September 7th after his long battle with cancer. First and foremost Mike was devoted to family and home. Mike is survived by his wife/ life-partner of 40 years Alice Duncan (Holley) and his devoted son Robby, of whom he was so proud. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia and Susie, his half-brother Andy, and the Holley Family, who became his second family. In his career, Mike oversaw amazing home renovations throughout Atlanta but he was an artist at heart. In his spare time he tied flies for the fly-fishing community and for himself which he tested on the waters of the upper Chattahoochee River in the catch-and-release waters he loved. A tradition every year for many years was a camping trip to Sapelo Island which included 3 generations of fellow nature lovers and the same core group of friends who loved his camp kitchen prowess. We will all miss Mike terribly but we know that the trout are running in Heaven and the flies are tied to perfection. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make donations in Mike's honor to Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK), or the American Cancer Society, Lung cancer. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at A. S. Turner and Sons's at 4:00 pm on Saturday 9/14 with family receiving friends at 3:00pm.
