Michael Cherry

May 8, 1992 — March 27, 2025

Michael Dickson Cherry died at his home in Douglasville, GA on March 27 2025. He was born May 8 1992 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA, the second of three sons of Jon "Kevin" Cherry and Sandra Eichelberger. He attended school in Douglas County GA, graduating from Chapel Hill High School in 2010.

Michael was beloved by all, funny and smart and charismatic. He was musical and sang with his high school chorus as well as local rock bands, and he enjoyed playing the guitar. He was good with his hands, and could fix almost anything he put his mind to. He loved his friends and family and wanted very much to have a family of his own; children adored him. He was handsome and a magnet to women. Michael suffered for years with bipolar disorder which morphed into other issues - he was tortured by this. His family and friends are grateful that he is no longer suffering from this.

Michael is survived by his parents Sandra Eichelberger of Decatur, GA and father Jon "Kevin" Cherry of Douglasville, GA, his brothers Jon Holland Cherry and Andrew Kyle Cherry of Decatur, GA, maternal grandmother Priscilla Dickson Eichelberger, aunt Dr. Julia Eichelberger and uncle Roy Hutchinson of Charleston, SC, aunt Anne Eichelberger Studstill and uncle Bill Studstill of Avondale Estates, GA, uncle Hugh "Lee" Eichelberger III and aunt Bianka Klosa Eichelberger of Needham, MA, paternal grandmother Ann Sapp Carraway and step-grandfather John Carraway of Jacksonville, FL, and aunt Elaine Cherry Gristick and uncle Troy Gristick of Douglasville, GA.
