Michael Henry Francis

Mr. Michael H. Francis Sr., 51, of Decatur died Saturday, May 16, 2015. As owner of Maple Ridge Nursery in Decatur, he was an avid lover of Japanese maples and conifers, and tens of thousands of Japanese maples and conifers grace gardens throughout the nation because of him.
All who knew Mike knew of his deep love and devotion to his family. He coached his son in baseball and coached and served as caddy to his daughter in her golf competitions. He is survived by his wife, Christy, his son Michael H. Francis, Jr., and his daughter, Alyson Brooke Francis. He also is survived by his parents, Carolyn and Carl H. Francis; his brother Carl H. Francis, Jr. and his wife Darinna Francis, all of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, at 12:30 p.m. at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Rev. Ellynda Lipsey officiating. Afterwards, a private family burial will be held at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
