Michael E. Wilder March 2, 1947 - February 25, 2025

Mike Wilder was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Hapeville, GA. He attended Hapeville High School and was valedictorian of his 1965 graduating class. He went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech, and later a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University. While at Georgia Tech Mike met his wife of 53 years, Rhonda Wilder, who worked in the Chemistry Department. Mike participated in the ROTC program at Georgia Tech and later joined the Army and went to officer candidate school at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Mike was an engineer by trade and worked for Georgia Power most of his career before going into consulting. Additionally, Mike was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was at Hank Aaron's 715th home run game, the Sid Bream slide game, Game 4 of the 2021 World Series, and countless other historic games. Mike loved to travel and enjoyed visiting unique places like Tanzania, Iceland, South Africa, and Patagonia.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Sunshine Wilder. Mike is survived by his wife Rhonda, son Vance Wilder and daughter-in-law Patty Wilder, daughter Gena Scott and son-in-law Michael Scott. He also is survived by seven grandchildren: Vance Wilder, Jr., Charlie Wilder, Samuel Wilder, Alice Wilder, Theodore Scott, Inman Scott, and Sunshine Scott.
