Mildred Elois Brown Delony, 95, died in Decatur, GA, on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, following a brief illness. Born in Norcross, GA, on November 8, 1909, Mrs. Delony was the daughter of Miles Calvin Brown and Mary Narcissus Grant Brown. She was the widow of Joseph Cecil Delony, Jr. (1914-2001), to whom she was married for more than 65 years. Mrs. Delony was a graduate of Tucker High School and Atlanta Business College. She was Personnel Manager of the downtown Davison's store, both before and after it was bought by Macy's, and retired from Macy's after 35 years of service. She and her husband lived in Decatur for many years, as well as having a home in Florida until 1999. Mrs. Delony lived at Northlake Gardens Retirement Home in Tucker since 1999. She was predeceased by her husband; her brother, Cecil Brown; and a sister-in-law, Polly Delony Sudia. She is survived by a niece, Nancy Brown Guest, and a nephew, William R. Brown, both of Toccoa, GA, as well as a sister-in-law, Lillian Delony of Decatur. Mrs. Delony will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for many fine qualities, especially her kindness and generous spirit. A memorial service honoring Mildred Delony will be held Friday, August 19, at 2:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Tucker, GA, where she was a member. The Rev. John Little will officiate.
