Mr. Miles C. Kelley, age 88, of Atlanta went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2005. Also known as M.C. or Mike, he was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army Air Corps flying "the Hump" in the China, Burma, and India Theater as a flight engineer. He retired with the rank of Sr. Master Sgt. from the Air Force Reserves after 30 years of service. He was a member, Elder, and on the Governing Board of the First Alliance Church. The last of eighteen brothers and sisters, Mr. Kelley was predeceased by his daughter, Sheila Ruth Kelley, and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Dolores Cabe Kelley; daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Stephen B. (Elaine) Gossett of Marietta, Mr. & Mrs. Jere J. (Linda) Smith, III of Atlanta; and grandchildren, Jere J. Smith, IV, Hayden Jane Smith and Paul Burkheart Smith. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6th, at 1:00 p.m. at First Alliance Church. Rev. Kevin Goins, Rev. James Sunda, and Rev. Eugene McGee will officiate. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons and from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the memorial service. A. S. Turner & Sons
