Milford Harvey Bennett

Milford Harvey Bennett, 81, of Tucker, GA died on September 22, 2011. Milford was born on August 25, 1930 and lived in DeKalb County all his life. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnston Bennett, son, David Bennett of Tucker, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Andy Dennis of Suwanee GA, granddaughters, Emily and Chandler Dennis of Suwanee, brother and sister in law, W.G. (Bill) and Nell Bennett of Lilburn, sister, Louelle Bradford of Jonesboro, and many loving nieces and nephews. Milford graduated from Murphy High School and received his degree from Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of the 1951 and 52 football teams. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. and was stationed at Fort Benning, GA. Milford worked for Fidelity Federal Savings & Loan. Fulton Federal Savings & Loan., South Trust Bank and Wachovia Bank. He was a past president ofthe Peachtree Atlanta Kiwanis Club. Milford was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church of Decatur and a teacher in the Progressive Men's Bible Class. Funeral services will be at Briarlake Baptist Church at 11 AM Monday, September 26, 2001, with Dr. Tommy Ferrell officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moving Forward Campaign at Briarlake Baptist Church, 3715 Lavista Road, Decatur, GA 30033, or the American Heart Association.
