Mr. Robert Leonard Meredith

Mr. Robert L. Meredith died at his home in Atlanta on August 12, 2005.  He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on November 8, 1945, to the late Verneal and Norman Meredith.  He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas, and received graduate degrees from Duke University.  He came to Atlanta to accept a position in the English Department at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and later became the coach of a series of very successful Georgia Tech College Bowl teams.  More recently he worked as a tax preparer.  He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Eileen Meredith, and by his father-in-law, Willis Van Sickle, of Madison, Ohio.  The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Monday from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home.
