Mrs. Geysha Betty Alfaro, age 66 of Atlanta, died Monday, August 27, 2012. She was born and raised in Chuquicamata, Chile and came to the United States in 1960. Geysha graduated from Grady High School and was an administrative assistant at GA Tech. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abundio and Veronica Alvarez and brother, David Alvarez. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Hugo Alfaro, Sr.; daughter, Brenda (David) Cochran of Atlanta; sons, Hugo (Sarah) Alfaro of Tucker and David (Scott Bellomy) Alfaro of Tucker; grandchildren, Corinne Cochran, Caitlin Cochran and Charles Alfaro; uncle and aunt, Eddie and Elba Alfaro; sisters, Gladys (Ricardo) Guererro of Chile and Sonia (Hugo) Rodriguez of Chile; brother, Eduardo Alvarez of Chile; and adopted brothers and sisters, Eddie (Alexis) Alfaro, Eleazar Alfaro, William Alfaro, and Diane (Eddie) Guigou. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta on Friday, August 31st at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm and Friday morning from 9 to 10 am at the funeral home. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the church at 10 am. A. S.
