Mrs. Graciela Alcebo Rivera

Graciela Alcebo Rivera 98, of Atlanta passed peacefully from this life on August 18, 2016. She was born in Colon, Cuba in 1918 to Jose and Edelmira Alcebo. Graciela married the love of her life Valentin Rivera on April 5, 1942 and had two daughters.
Graciela moved to Atlanta, GA in 1973 where she was respectfully known as Chelela by her family and Abuela by not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved to play the piano, and her passions were teaching others how to play the piano, her faith, and spending time with family and friends. Graciela had a love for books and reading and was extremely proud of her library consisting of a wide-range of Spanish literature.
Graciela was survived by her daughter Ana Maria Rivera, five grandchildren, Ana Lucia Gattorno, Edwardo Valentin Gattorno, Graciela Rivera Black, Leonel Alberu Rivera, Viviana Graciela Alberu. She was also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Amanda, Eddie, Brandon, Danielle, Ronald, Jacob, and Brooke, three great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, and Brody.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentin Rivera, daughter, Graciela Alcebo Rivera, and grandson, Francisco Gattorno, her parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills Cemetery. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory.
