Myra Sue Aikens

November 7, 1953 — April 15, 2008

Myra Sue Aikens of Decatur, beloved daughter of Myra Boyer Aikens and the late Charles H. Aikens, Jr. has passed away. Myra was born November 7, 1953 in Atlanta. She grew up in Avondale Estates and was a 1971 graduate of Avondale High. She played clarinet in the marching band and was a majorette. She received degrees in music from DeKalb Community College and Florida State University. She was a member of the Florida State Marching Chiefs. She received a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Georgia Law School. Myra was devoted to her horse Gypsy and her many dogs and cats. She had a green thumb and loved growing plants and flowers. Survivors include her mother, sister, Wynelle Reynolds of Lexington, SC, brothers, C. H. Aikens, III of Knoxville, TN, Larry G. Aikens of Dandridge, TN and Wesley A. Aikens of Snellville and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur on Monday, April 28th at 1:30 p.m.
