Myree Wells Maas of Decatur, GA died on September 23, 2009. Myree was born on September 7, 1921 in Atlanta, GA, and was a lifelong resident of Decatur. She was the daughter of Dr. Robert F. Wells and Myree Vaughan Wells. She attended Decatur Girls High and graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1942. After college she worked for Davisons as a fashion buyer where she met her future husband Joseph Maas. She was married to Joseph Maas of Tampa for over fifty-seven years, until his death in 2006. They owned and operated the Casual Corner stores in Decatur, GA. She was president of the Parkwood Garden Club and a member of The Book Club since 1945. She is survived by her son, Rear Admiral Steven Wells Maas and his wife Barbara of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter, Jane Maas Edwards and her husband The Rev. Bruce Edwards of Decatur; grandsons, The Rev. Benjamin Wells Maas of Louisville, KY and Christopher Joseph Edwards of Maryville, MO; and a granddaughter, Amanda Lee Maas of Louisville. She also had two great-grandchildren, Elliott Wells Maas and Lauralee Goodsell Maas of Louisville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish Episcopal Church in Decatur. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Those desiring to make contributions may donate to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or Agnes Scott College. A. S. Turner & Sons
