Myrtice Corene Whigham

Myrtice C. Whigham, 87, of Atlanta, passed away December 26, 2015. Born October 29, 1928, she was the daughter of John and Bertha Dempsey. Myrtice enjoyed singing in her church choir, cooking, giving, and being with her family and friends. Her long time home was in the Toco Hills area of DeKalb County. She was a member of Peachtree Baptist Church for over 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Neal Whigham. She is survived by her five children; Joseph Keith Whigham, Jerry Wayne Whigham, Julius Daniel Whigham, Mary Kathleen Whigham, and Joel Carl Whigham. Also, she is survived by many other loving family members including three grandsons, one great grandson, seven siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home Decatur, GA. Interment will be at the Bowers Community Cemetery in Dodge County, Georgia. A.S.
