Nancy Carolyn Mclaren

Nancy Carolyn (Green) McLaren passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with a progressive neurologic disease. Nancy was born January 5, 1947 in Rome, GA to Marilyn (Gray) and Willard Green.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Green and Steve Green, and her sister, Terry (Green) Dobbins.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years John F. McLaren, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and John Farrell, son and daughter-in-law John and Susan McLaren, granddaughters Isabella and Eleanor McLaren (who lovingly referred to her as their “Fancy”), sister-in-law Maria Green, brother-in-law Jeff Dobbins, many nieces, nephews, and extended family, which now includes the kind and attentive caregivers for whom we are so thankful.

After graduating from Decatur High School in Decatur, GA in 1965 she earned an associate degree in Radiation Technology from Georgia State University, which began her life-long interest in the medical field. For more than 30 years, Nancy managed the physicians and staff at Atlanta Nephrology Referral Center until her retirement in 2017.

Nancy was an adventurous eater who enjoyed cooking new recipes and exploring new restaurants. She enjoyed reading, was an avid shopper, and loved the annual family beach vacation to St. George Island, Florida. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, as well as a friend to all who knew her. Our world will be forever changed without her in it, but we will carry on the love she shared with us.

Her family invites all to join them for a Visitation on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a dedicated tribute/prayer at 11:30 am at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home at 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
