Nancy Ivey

Inurnment services for Nancy Ivey, 71, of Doraville will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 26th, 2010 at 2PM at the Historic Decatur Cemetery. Nancy a native of Americus, GA and daughter of the late Mr. Henry Anson Ivey, Sr. and Claudia Bea McCorkle Ivey died Friday evening, October 22, 2010. She graduated from Decatur High in 1957 and received her B. A. from the University of Georgia in 1961. Nancy was a very active person. An avid skier, she was a lifetime member and treasurer of the Atlanta Ski Club. She was one the first women appointed to the Ski Patrol. She also loved to swim competing nationally in Cuba in the 1950’s. Nancy worked for International Dairy Queen and IDI where she served as assistant controller for many years before retirement. Surviving are her brother, Henry Ivey, Jr. of Atlanta; sister, Muriel Ivey Branch of Boynton Beach, FL, and nephew, Allen Branch of Doraville. Friends are invited to visit with the family following the services at the cemetery. A. S. Turner & Sons
