Nancy Shealy

Nancy Anne Shealy, 80, passed away September 13, 2024. The only child of the late William Thomas and Annie Mae (Brown) Shealy, Nancy will be laid to rest next to them at Decatur Cemetery on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends will be received at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, prior to the graveside service.

A native of Decatur, Nancy attended the Woman's College of Georgia in Milledgeville, where she studied to be a teacher. She taught kindergarten for a year before transitioning to a career in banking, retiring form Bank of America. After her retirement she helped out part-time in the office at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, where her mother had been the secretary for many years. She and the Turner children had grown up together and often played with one another, remaining friends into adulthood.

Nancy was a lifelong member of the Christian Church of Decatur, where she always helped coordinate the annual Christmas Tree sales. She was active in the Pilot Club of Decatur and then the Peachtree Pilot Club. She served on the board of Georgia Artists with DisAbilities, who the Peachtree Pilot Club sponsored.

Surviving Nancy are her wonderful caregiver, Tiffany Hutchins, her longtime friend, Joyce Garmon, and a host of cousins, extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Georgia Artists with DisAbilities or the Christian Church of Decatur.
