Nancy White Sanders

Nancy White Sanders, age 80, an Atlanta native, passed away December 23, 2012. She graduated from Bass High School in 1950 and was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA. After a successful teaching career, Nancy retired from Continental Colony Elementary School in 1993. She was a long term member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher's Sorority and a valued member of Cobb Community Chorus. Nancy was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Crackers and the Atlanta Braves. She was preceded in death by her parents, Worth Ellis and Grace Cook White, and her husband, Robert Dickinson Sanders. She recently lost her loving companion, Miss Kitty. Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith McFarland and Cathy Sanders; and son, Robert D. Sanders, Jr. Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Jeremy and Catrina Sanders. A memorial service will held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 4755 N. Peachtree Rd., Dunwoody, GA with Rev. Gray Temple officiating. The family will have a light reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Mikell, 237 Camp Mikell Rd., Toccoa, GA 30577, an Episcopal retreat center close to the family's hearts.
