Natalie 'Ladybug' Poellnitz was born June 26, 1972 in New Haven, Connecticut being the oldest of two children to Nathan Earl Poellnitz and Josephine Boglin Poellnitz.
Described as quite independent, she participated in swimming, dance and playing the violin. As a student in middle school, Natalie, along with her brother and mother moved to Lithonia, Georgia in 1984; graduating from Redan High school in 1990. As one of her graduation gifts, her grandfather gave her a ticket to visit her father who was living in Columbus, Ohio where she attended Central State University. This first trip sparked her interest in travel to numerous places around the nation.
As a young adult, Natalie became a chameleon creating a sense of home in several states. This lead her to career in Social Services in Virginia before returning to Georgia permanently as staff member of the Emory Hospital System.
Always the adventurous traveler and avid reader, Natalie expressed passions like no other keeping her well-rounded and open to conversation. She would often offer strong opinions about social issues and world affairs, while simultaneously seeking information about food preparation, music, and fashion trends. She stayed consciously connected to online and social media sites. These qualities led her to pursue entrepreneurship as a body scrub producer & seller, as well as an ordained wedding officiant. All in all, Natalie never stopped dreaming in her pursuit of happiness.
Natalie transitioned Saturday March 9, 2024 at Emory/ Decatur hospital after a long illness. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her current stepmother (Ruth Poellnitz), former stepmother (Cidra Poellnitz), brothers (Nathan Eugene & Ryan), sister (Alex), sister/cousin (Berlinda), aunts (Shirley, Nancy Ann, Stephanie, Wanda Faye, & Cecelia), Uncles (Carl Ronnie & Elston Edward), and many cousins and friends from near and far.
