Nathaniel Ray Pilgrim

Nathaniel Ray Pilgrim, 74, of Conyers, Georgia, passed on Friday, July 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Nathaniel was born in Scottdale, Georgia, on May 1, 1944 to Wilbur Ray Pilgrim and Gladys Parmer Pilgrim. Nathaniel decided to serve his country in the United States Army and joined in 1963. He was awarded a medal of Good Conduct while he served. Nathaniel was honorably discharged from his service in 1969. He worked as a manager for Smurfit, and raised two children. Nathaniel was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved God, his family, and his friends. Nathaniel married the love of his life, Janie Grace, and they were married for 27 years. His great sense of humor and out-going personality will be remembered fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Denver Ray Pilgrim, and his sisters Joyce Wood and Alma Caldwell Ghorley.

Nathaniel is survived by his loving wife, Janie Pilgrim; his daughter, Didi Blalock; his stepchildren: Pam Maxwell, Robbie Pepper, Sharon Crowe, and Eddie Bonner; his grandchildren: Courtney and Chad Lanier, Kayla Ellis, A.J. Blalock, and Shane Bozeman; his great-grandchildren: Gracie Kay Lanier and Kinsley Rae Ellis; his sister, Jeanette Kelly, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
