Nell Louise Morse

September 6, 1916 — January 26, 2012

Nell Louise Mills Morse, daughter of Jefferson Shackleford Mills and Mary Savannah Reagin Mills, passed away on January 26, 2012 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She was the last survivor of ten children. Born September 6, 1916, Mrs. Morse graduated from Decatur Girls High School. During WWII while working on Saint Simons Island she met her husband to be John Harold Morse of Brockton, MA who was stationed there with the Navy. They were married in 1943 in Conyers, GA and later moved to Brockton MA where they lived most of their married life. They traveled extensively with Mr. Morse's brother and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Chester Morse. They later retired to Saint Simons Island. They were married 50 years at the time of Mr. Morse's death. In 2000, Mrs. Morse moved back to Decatur, GA, the place of her birth and lived at Clairmont Place. She is survived by many devoted nieces and nephews and their families, and by her husband's brother, Dr, Harry Morse and his wife Mary, of West Lebanon, NH. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice 1000 Hurricane Shoals Rd. Lawrenceville, GA 30043-4826. A.S. Turner and Sons. Funeral Home and Crematory.
