Nelson Lyman Towns

Nelson “Ned” Towns, age 89, of Scottdale, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009.  Mr. Towns was a World War II veteran and retired from DeKalb County Public Works.  He is survived by his wife, Doris Towns; daughter and son-in-law, Lavon and Clifford Freeman; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Donna Towns, Charles and Ann Kilpatrick; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 25, at 11:00 am at Melwood Cemetery.  Mr. Grant Dickson will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 pm Sunday afternoon at A. S. Turner & Sons.
