Nettie Lynne Wells

Nettie Lynne Wells, known to her friends and family as Lynne, passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 63, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Lynne was born on August 3, 1960, to Ralph and Nancy Childs of Jonesboro, Arkansas. The family was stationed in several cities across the country before finally settling in the Metro-Atlanta area where Lynne ultimately called home for over 50 years.

Lynne was a loving and loyal mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed seeing her grandkids, going to the beach, reading & watching TV. Lynne claims to have seen every episode of Law & Order ever produced and estimates that she has read north of 2,000 books. Beyond her family, books and television, Lynne also deeply enjoyed spending time with her close group of friends, affectionately known as "The Bats". Lynne was known for her quick wit and sense of humor, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lynne is survived by her son, Brian Wells and his wife Jennifer; her grandchildren Wyatt and Lilly; her brother Matt Childs and his wife Shaun; her brother Jim Childs and his wife Ritu; and 5 nieces and nephews: Griffin Miller, Melissa DeFreest, Smith Childs, Whid Childs & Joe Childs.

A casual gathering to celebrate Lynne will be held for family and close friends on March 17th from 1-4pm at The Solarium in Decatur, GA. At Lynne’s request, there will be wine, beer, BBQ, pictures, and laughs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynne's memory to the Susan G. Komen Organization or The American Cancer Society.
