Nicholas Michael Hood

Nicholas Michael Hood left us too early on May 20, 2021. Born May 30, 1996 in Oxford, MS, Nic spent much of his childhood in Frederick, MD, before moving to his adopted home of Atlanta, GA in 2017 where he found inspiration in the vibrant world of live music events.

Nic was a big kid with an even bigger heart. His smile was brightest when hugging his beloved dog, Chance the Pupper. Nic was his mother’s best friend.

He loved music, steak fajitas, hiking, camping, being on the water, travelling, playing video games with his cousin Nash, hugging his mom, and being with friends. He could somehow put away more Cheerwine and cheeseburgers than anyone and remain rail thin. He gave amazing hugs.

Nic’s compassion, kindness, and empathy for other people knew few limits. He had a soft spot for the misunderstood and disadvantaged. When a homeless man approached Nic about a toothache, Nic didn’t think twice about getting him treatment for the abscess that saved his life.

Nic spoke with conviction on the topics he cared most deeply: peace, harmony, love, community, unity, and family. He was spiritual and curious. His long blonde hair and mix-matched attire hid a fierce, loyal soul who refused to accept injustice in the world.

Nic is survived by his mother Caroline Michael Nash, Atlanta, GA; maternal grandparents J. Michael and Meta Nash, Frederick, MD; aunt Lillian Nash Caudle (Neal), Atlanta, GA; cousin Nash Amos Caudle, Atlanta, GA; paternal grandparents Bud and Lyn Stringer, Mandeville, LA; his father T. Jeffery Hood, Oxford, MS: and numerous cousins and friends from across the country.
