Nick Stephens

Mr. Nick Stephens, 87, of Clairmont Oaks in Decatur died Friday, August 26, 2005. He was a graduate of Tech High School and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Stephens was a member of Clarkston United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of Post #1, of the American Legion for over 55 years.  He was an avid golfer and a musician playing the trumpet.  Mr. Stephens played for various bands in the Atlanta area.  He was a devoted husband and a loving father. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby McCalla Stephens; daughters, Cheryl Ann Standiford of Madison, Phyllis DeNeve of Roswell, Patty Foreman of Lithia Springs; son,  Bobby Stephens of Rome; grandchildren, Chris and Daniel DeNeve and Courtney Foreman. Funeral services will be Monday, August 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Larry Amos and Rev. Charles White officiating.  Interment will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.  Those desiring may send contributions to the Clarkston United Methodist Church, 3919 Church St, Clarkston, GA 30021 or to the Clairmont Oaks Medical Transportation Fund.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
