Mrs. Nora Garrett Crawford of Decatur passed away September 19, 2008 after a long illness. She was born in Hiawassee on December 5, 1930, graduated from Towns County High School, and attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, before moving to Atlanta. She retained a love of the mountains all her life. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Crawford; her sons, Thomas E. Crawford, Jr. and his wife Lynn Todd-Crawford of Atlanta, and her son, Lindell Todd Sellmansberger, and Garry Keith Crawford and his wife, Linda Owens Crawford of Tucker, and granddaughter, Paige Caroline Crawford, and her sister, Ruby G. Roberts and her husband, Bill Roberts of Decatur. Mrs. Crawford worked for nearly 40 years with the Atlanta public accounting firm Sowell & Harden as well as its successor firms, Alexander Grant & Co. and Grant Thornton, before retiring in 1993. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 P.M. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons. The memorial service will follow at 3 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons.
