Mrs. Norma Jean George of Stone Mountain died Tuesday, December 29, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Edley Burnette and Alvia Mahaffey Burnette. She retired from Frito Lay after 40 years of service. Mrs. George was a member of North Clarendon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Burnette, Gerald Burnette and sister Brenda Sosebee. Mrs. George is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward L. George; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Jean and Mark Rusk; son, Edward Lee George, Jr.; granddaughters, Jennifer Marie and Kathryn Lianne Rusk; brothers and sisters, Bonnie and Wayne Dills of Lawrenceville, Thomas and Peggy Burnette, Alwaine and Lawrence Totherow, Junior and Brenda Burnette, David and Mary Burnette, all of Blairsville, GA, Franklin and Carneal Burnette of Buford, Wanda Brophy of Jefferson, John Richard and Barbara Burnette of Dublin; sister-in-law, Wanda Burnette; brother-in-law, Randy Sosebee, both of Blairsville. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Perry Ginn and Rev. Tim Owens officiating. Interment, Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4– 8 P.M. Thursday, December 31, 2009 and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
