Norma Manahan

Norma Ann (89) and Stanley Willis (94) Manahan went to be with the Lord this week.

Norma died on Tuesday May 5 and Stanley on Wednesday May 6, 2020. Norma was born in Atlanta on May 30, 1930 and Stanley was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on May 14, 1925. They were married over 72 years.

They are survived by two sons, George Manahan (wife, Mary Lou) and Russell Manahan (wife, Maria). They are also survived by two grandchildren they loved dearly, Natalie and Nathan (wife Jennifer), and one great-grandson, Isaac Stanley and a great-granddaughter who is due in September. Norma and Stanley also left behind nieces, nephews and other family members who visited, called, and sent many cards and letters.

Stanley and Norma loved the Lord and their church family. They were long-time members of Parkwood Hills Baptist Church in Decatur where they served in many leadership roles, including choir directors, worship leaders, deacon, and where Norma served as church secretary for over 45 years. Stanley was a World War II veteran, having served as a Merchant Marine.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of their lives will be held at a future date at Parkwood Hills Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkwood Hills Baptist church, 4741 Covington Hwy., Decatur, GA 30305.
