Ocie Mildred Becker

Ocie Morris Becker, 94, of Gainesville, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Born June 16, 1924, in Cherokee County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Ina Lee Carver Morris. Ocie had a wonderful green thumb and enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress, owning her own business since the 1960's, and loved needle work, crotcheting and quilting.

Ocie is survived by her sons, Gene Nicholson, John "Jake" Durham, and Jerry Durham; daughters, Sandra Stewart, and Connie Blalock; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ocie was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne H Becker; daughter, Linda Cantrell; and her five brothers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, GA. A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, in the Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons with interment to follow at Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain, GA.
