Olen Edward Little of Atlanta, GA age 90, passed away on Friday, December 4th, 2020. Olen was born February 25, 1930 in Douglasville, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Oscar and Bernice Little, brothers and sisters Fred Little, Etta Kate Eskew, Huelon Little, Arlen Little, and Delores Elsner. He is survived by his lifetime love of 65 years Faye Ray Little and beloved daughter Lisa Jordan and son-in-law Gary Jordan.
Olen loved country music. He had a band named the “Chattahoochee Ramblers” and played in a few other bands. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and after completing boot camp in Fort Campbell, KY, he was stationed in Germany as a SGT., Company “B” 141st Tank Battalion. After serving two years of honorable service, he returned home and started his career with United Motors where he met his future wife, Faye. They were married in June, 1956 and settled in Douglasville to start their life together. He returned to music, recorded a couple of records. Putting music on hold, he went to work for National Rejectors, Inc . , and shortly thereafter went on to start his own vending sales and repair business Coin Device Service, Inc., partnering with his brother Arlen in 1962. After 35 successful years of being in business he retired in 1997. He came out of retirement to work part- time delivering cars for various car dealers in the southeast for 10 years.
Olen loved spending time with family and friends. He entertained many of his nieces and nephews with “magic tricks” and greatly loved by all. Olen was a member of the Latham No. 12 Masonic Lodge in Austell, Georgia for over 55 years of his life. He also became a licensed Ham Amateur Radio enthusiast. Over the years, he and his family traveled many landmarks all over the country. More recently he enjoyed spending time at a vacation spot where he pursued his love of fishing and being with his family.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 12, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons, with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
