Mr. Ollie James Agee, 86, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, after a brief illness at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. A native of Hickman, TN, Ollie graduated with degrees from Tennessee Technological Institute (B.S. Physics) and Peabody/Vanderbilt University (M.A.Education). His education was interrupted by serving in World War II, the Army Air Corps 450th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force, flying out of Italy from March 1943 to September 1945. Ollie flew 35 missions, the majority as lead navigator and was honorably discharged as a 1st. Lt. After teaching high school in Shelbyville, TN for 4 years he met and married Millie Burkhart to whom he was married for 50 years. He began a career at IBM which spanned 35 years and included jobs in Columbus, OH, Endicott, NY, New Orleans, LA, and Atlanta, GA. Together Ollie and Millie, who preceded him in death, are survived by James, wife Bridget, children Michael and Chanel; Jeff, wife Jean, children Katy, Erin and Stephen; and Kathy Beaver, husband Monte, children Matthew, Haley and Adam. The family will receive friends at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where Ollie and Millie Agee were long time members of the Graydon Class, on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the Church Parlor from 10am to 11am immediately followed by a service in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be made in Ollie's name to the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, GA 30033-1299. A. S. Turner & Sons
