Onis Wages

Onis Wages, 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 14, 2024, in Austell, GA.

Onis Wages was born on July 5, 1925 in Kings Mountain, NC, to Clayton Tucker and Louise Tucker.

Onis married Marion Wages and the couple had 1 child, Linda Marlene. Onis was a meticulous homemaker, a wonderful cook and also kept children whom she loved as her own. After over 30 years of marriage, Marion tragically passed away at the age of 59 due to lung disease he was exposed to during WWII.

After Marion's death, Onis met a widower, Silas Ward, and gained 6 adult stepchildren along with spouses, children and grandchildren! Onis loved all of her new family and they all loved her and her daughter, Marlene.

Onis is known for her joy, wit, love of all people (especially babies), warmth of her home, deliciousness of her southern cooking AND her love for her Jesus!

Onis is survived by Janice Wanek - niece, Clayton Tucker - nephew, and Walt Tucker - nephew; as well as their families. Onis is also survived by all of her 6 stepchildren and their families.

A brief graveside service for Onis Wages will be held on Tuesday, August 20 at 10:00 AM at Decatur Cemetery.
