Opal Crews Lovern

March 31, 1919 — July 1, 2008

Mrs. Opal Crews Lovern, of Clarkston, born on March 31, 1919 died Wednesday, July 2, 2008.  She was of the Methodist faith and was a foster mother for 98 newborn babies during the 1960's.  Mrs. Lovern was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel S. Lovern; son, Charles S. Lovern, parents, Clark and Essie Crews; brothers, Ralph Crews, and James Crews; sisters, Elizabeth Crews Lashley and Louella Crews Austin. Surviving are her sons, James O. (Jim) Lovern, II and his wife, Marina of Pine Mountain, GA, Robert N. (Bob) Lovern and his wife Ginny of Wellington, FL; Wayne C. Lovern and his wife Aileen of Stone Mountain, GA; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  Funeral services will be held Friday, July 4th at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Teresa Lilja officiating.  Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd., N. E., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA  30345 or www. alz.org/Georgia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
