Oswaldo Diaz Puche

May 12, 1939 — January 9, 2021

Oswaldo Puche Diaz, May 12, 1939-January 09, 2021, Cerete (Cordoba), Colombia. Son of Andrés Avelino Puche and Petrona Díaz de Puche. Second of eight siblings. Married to Lizbeth Bolivar Puche. Roxana's father and Adriel Puentes' grandfather.

Small statured but with an immense heart and fierce empathy. Great son, father, husband, friend, brother and human being. He touched and transformed the lives of everyone who knew him. His sense of humor was unique, and his jocosity infected everyone around him.

He was a living example of love and service to the church and community. Professionally he was a professor, mechanical engineer, and certified translator. A graduate from the American School ¨Colegio Americano¨ (Barranquilla), Universidad de Santander (Colombia) BS Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Tech MSME. His insatiable thirst for knowledge was admirable and enviable. He was a traveling source of information and knowledge.

But what really distinguished him was his noble disposition, generosity, and love for everyone that surrounded him. As an emigrant, he understood well the struggle that every foreigner feels when they arrive in an unknown country. The doors of his house were always open to any traveler with a TBD address.

Since 1995, he was an active member (soldier) of the Salvation Army—always ready to serve the church and the community, as a transporter or Sunday school teacher.

His departure leaves an immense void in the lives of all of us, but he will live on in our hearts and memories. We will remember his mischievous smile and gigantic heart. Rest in peace in the presence of the Creator.
