Otis Lawrence (Larry) Kilday, Jr. 93, of Atlanta, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Born July 15, 1923, in Newbern, Alabama he was the son of the late Otis Lawrence, Sr. and Bess Rae Lloyd Kilday. Larry was a southern gentleman who worked many years for CSX Railroad. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII. Larry was a long term member of The Episcopal Church of Epiphany and enjoyed being outside working in his yard, walking and spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his son, Otis Lawrence Kilday, III and his wife, Renee; daughters, Lorraine Klingman and her husband, David, Suzanne Sheets and her husband, Jimmy, and Karen Kilday; eleven grandchildren David, Chris, Kevin, Tracy Ann, Ryan, Mark, Brian, Kelly, Ariel, Chelsea, and Tara; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and loving friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rawson Louis Kilday; and brother, Euclid (Guy) Lloyd Kilday.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June 16, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 17, at The Episcopal Church of Epiphany, 2089 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE Atlanta, 30307 with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Circle of Friends Hospice.
