Pansy F. Trotter

November 26, 1920 — April 5, 2010

PANSY F. TROTTER, 89, Atlanta, GA (11-26-1920 to 4-5-2010) It is with heartfelt sadness that we must announce the passing of Pansy after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away with dignity and peace on Monday, April 5, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family.  She grew up in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, and was married to Clay Trotter from 1940 to his death in 1990. They lived all over the United States, winding up in Atlanta for the last 46 years. She worked 37 years for the Federal Government, retiring from the Department of Defense as a manager in Contracts Administration. She won many awards and commendations in her career. Everyone who knew Pansy will miss her loving, kind nature; all of her yard and garden advice; her life advice; and her sharp wit. The earth is diminished by her passing, but heaven is rejoicing! She will be dearly missed by all of her family, daughter Debbi and Bob Oates of Marietta, GA, sons, Clay (Buddy) and Sue Trotter of Daytona Beach Shores, FL, and Randy and Kim Trotter of Cumming GA, along with 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A private family service is planned. The family would like to extend thanks to Allyson Zalva and the staff of Hospice Atlanta for their exemplary care. Pansy always said the only difference between a wedding and a funeral is that you can smell your flowers at your wedding. With this in mind, we ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tabernacle UMC, 5601 Liberty Road, Greensboro, NC 27406, or Oak Grove UMC, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA 30033, or Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
