Pat Terrell Fleming

Patricia Terrell Fleming, 86, of Tucker, beloved wife and mother, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016. Born March 14, 1930, in Wallingford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Bennett Mix Terrell, Sr. and Marjorie Backes Terrell. Pat graduated from Connecticut College, New London, CT, in 1952 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was an avid tennis player and ALTA member for many years. Additionally, she taught generations of young tennis players at Winding Vista Pool and Tennis Club in Tucker. She was an accomplished painter, potter and gardener.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Allison Fleming; children, Mark Fleming, Kim Fleming Dunn; John Terrell Fleming; Dana Bradley Fleming; and preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Taylor Fleming. Pat is also survived by sister, Ann Terrell Glassman; seven grandchildren, Andrew and P.J. Dunn, Jessica Swann, Madison McLaughlin, Katherine and Lauren Fleming, and Jeffrey Taylor Fleming, II; five great grandchildren, Maddox, Ella, Neely, Alyssa, and Sawyer; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to her parents and son, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Bennett Mix Terrell, Jr.; and sister, Katherine Backes Terrell.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Briarlake Baptist Church, 3715 Lavista Road Decatur, GA 30033.
