She made the transition on 9/7/12, just shy of her 57th birthday. Since 1999, Patrice Dickey led GET THE LIFE YOU LOVE, a popular, creativity enhancement and life-changing class at Emory University's Center for Life Long Living. Her 2006 book, BACK TO THE GARDEN: GETTING FROM SHADOW TO JOY, won five awards in inspirational, spiritual and non-fiction categories in international contests, including Writers Digest. She had a successful entrepreneurial career in public relations as head of PD Communications from 1989 to 2005. She served clients such as British Airways, some of the world's top surgeons, health and wellness groups and other high profile organizations. She was an active member of her local Kiwannis Club and served a term as its president in the 1980s, an interest that she shared with her dad. Patrice was a Registered Corporate Coach, Certified Wellness Coach, Certified Radical Manifestation Coach, founder of C-Champ for people in the healing journey through cancer, Qualified Myers Briggs Dedicated Specialist, registered yoga teacher, Reike level practitioner and a member of the Professional Women's Advisory Board. She actively supported Peace Action, Planned Parenthood, SW Indian Children's Fund, Paralyzed Vets and Samaritan House. Patrice graduated with honors in Journalism from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1977, and from Hutchison School in Memphis, TN, in 1973 as President of the Student Body. A long-time resident of Atlanta, she was born in Evanston, IL. She joins her mother, Mary M. Dickey and father, Joseph M. Dickey, Jr., who passed away in 1995 and 2011, respectively. She is survived by her sister, Susan B. Dickey and niece, Elizabeth Isaacs, of Ambler, PA, and aunt, Susan Mauntel, as well as many loving cousins including Deana Blanchard & Chuck Young of Burnsville, NC. She will be missed by many friends around the world and her 16 year old cat, Hilary Rodham Kitten. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church in Decatur, GA on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. The family is requesting that any donations be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society, Oakhurst Presbyterian Church, or a charity that you think Patrice would like.
