It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Patterson Gibson, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Patricia was born on August 10, 1941, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she spent her early years before raising her family in Clarkston, Georgia.
Patricia was a dedicated bus driver for the DeKalb County School System for over 20 years; she was a nurturer at heart who touched the lives of countless children and their families. Known for her warm smile and caring nature, she made every ride a little brighter and every day a little better. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her unwavering love for her family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Mr. Ralph Milton Gibson. Her parents; T.J. and Mary Patterson, and her loving sister, Ms. Peggy Jones.
Patricia's legacy lives on through the hearts of those who loved her and the many lives she influenced.
She is survived by her beloved daughters; Kathy Cato (Susan), Kim Davidson (Rick), and one son; Rodney "Bubba" Gibson (Karrie); 2 grand children; Chris Carr (Chantal), Kasey Davis (Jackson); one great grandchild; Chloe Carr. Two dear sisters; Joy Patton and Laura Harris.
A graveside to honor Ms.Patricia's life will be held on January 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her life, share memories, and provide support to one another during this difficult time.
While she is no longer with us in body, Patricia's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know her.
Patricia Patterson Gibson will be deeply missed, but her warmth and kindness will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
