Patricia Louise Umphrey

Patricia "Patty" Louise Johnson Umphrey, age 86, of Covington, died May 30, 2013. A native of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Umphrey lived most of her life in the greater Atlanta area. A homemaker, she was a lifelong Southern Baptist with membership, recently , at Zion Baptist Church in Covington and, formerly, at Rainbow Park Baptist in Decatur and White Oak Hills Baptist in Atlanta and Stone Mountain. Mrs. Umphrey was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Pat A. Johnson and Vinnie Caskey Johnson, and sons, Robert Joe Umphrey and Michael Alan Umphrey. She is survived by husband of 65 years, Jack Rexford Umphrey; children, Martha (David) Clay of Snellville, Ronnie Umphrey (Debbie Cope) of Conyers, and Miriam (Bobby) Kidd of Windermere FL; daughter-in-law, Debra Umphrey of Monticello; brother, David Lee (Susan) Johnson of Valdosta; four grandsons; one granddaughter; two great granddaughters; three nieces. The memorial service for Patty Umphrey will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Zion Baptist Church, 7037 Hwy 212 North, Covington GA 30016. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary beginning at 3 p.m. prior to the service.
