Patricia Sims Mallory, 76, of Decatur passed away at home in the company of folks who loved her on February 22, 2017.
Born in Atlanta, September 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Daniel and Eunice Howsmon Sims. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta serving in the choir and as an elder for a term until her battle with dementia began. Pattie enjoyed being in the mountains of North Georgia, quilting, canning blueberries, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was honest, beautiful, and took seriously the charge to love God by serving others. She bore two children, but was mother to so many more.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jack Turnell Mallory; son, Michael Mallory and his wife, Susan; daughters, Katherine Mallory and Kimberly Vaughn and her husband, Byron Perkins; grandchildren, Isaiah Perkins, Mallory Vaughn, Amari Mallory, Will Mallory, and Halley Mallory; brother, Tommy Sims; niece, Jessica Thomason; and many more loving family and friends.
A celebration of Pattie's life will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 25, at First Presbyterian Church, 1328 Peachtree St. Atlanta, 30309. We will tell stories and celebrate her life over doughnuts and ice cream following the service.
