Patricia "Pat" Monroe Gibson

Patricia Monroe Gibson, 75, of Stone Mountain, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on January 18, 2017. Born April 26, 1942, in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Walter, Sr. and Julia Shore Upshur Monroe. Pat was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church where she also taught kindergarten for many years.

Pat is survived by her three sons: George Edward Gibson, Jr., Mark Monroe Gibson, and Christian Moore Gibson and his wife, Shane; three grandsons: Thomas Robert Gibson, George Edward Gibson, III, and Samuel Monroe Gibson; two granddaughters: Lizzie Diane Gibson and Maria Harrington; three dear nieces: Kimberly Groettum, Jessica Oleksak, and Dana Monroe; her beloved dog, Polly; and many more loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Dr. George Edward Gibson, Sr; and brother, Samuel Walter Monroe, Jr.

A celebration of Pat's life will held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, Stone Mountain, with Rev. Ellynda Lipsey officiating.
