Patsy Atwater Getz of Atlanta entered into rest on Friday, September 18, 2009. Ms. Getz was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Edmund Atwater, Sr. and Floried Harrison Atwater, brother Bennie Albert Atwater, sister Betty Jane Atwater, and grandson Angus Gage Thompson. Surviving are brother, Robert E. Atwater, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Griffin Atwater of Atlanta, daughter, Anna E. Getz of Kimball, Minnesota, son, Miller Getz and his wife, Kathy Getz of Lawrenceville, grandchildren, Jessica Getz, Savannah Tuthill, and Dylan Tuthill, niece, Carey Atwater, nephew, Bob Atwater, a large extended family and many friends. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, contagious smile, quick sense of humor, and her love for family and friends. A service celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, September 22nd at ten o'clock at North Decatur United Methodist Church. Interment will take place Tuesday, September 22nd at three o'clock at Macon Memorial Park in Macon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts to the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University or North Decatur United Methodist Church. Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday, September 21st, from one until three o’clock and six until eight o’clock at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
