Paul Francis Valente, 75, of Decatur, beloved husband, brother and friend, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019. Born March 10, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony and Carmela Gugliuzza Valente. Paul was a fan of football and baseball his favorite teams being the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Paul enjoyed playing golf as much as possible and was a member of the Senior Golf Association of Atlanta where he had many friends. In addition to playing golf, Paul enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Paul was best known for his sense of humor and his "famous" sauce and meatballs.
Paul is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Shelfer Valente; brothers, Michael and his late wife, Grace Valente, Tony Valente and his wife, Sharon; sister, Maria Mercer and her husband, Gary; sister-in-law, Margaret McMillan; nieces, Rachel and Ella Valente, Sarah and Anna Mercer, and Fran Legband and her husband, Scott; nephews, David Mercer and his wife Cierra and Michael Mercer; great nieces, Megan and Molly Legband; great nephews, Benjamin and Brandon Legband; and many more loving family and friends.

His Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday March 15th, 2019 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 515 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030.
