Paulette Edison Smith, 89, of 89 South Street, Pittsfield, MA, died Saturday, evening at Berkshire Place of Pittsfield. Born in Atlanta, GA, on May 11, 1918, the daughter of Hugh James Edison and Lela Mae Miller Edison, she was a 1936 graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta and a 1939 graduate of Atlanta Business College. For many years Mrs. Smith was Assistant Director of Food Services for South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta, a conselor and teacher for the American Diabetic Association, and a registered member of the American Cardiology Technologists Association. Mrs. Smith was an active member of St. Timothy's Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her husband, Norman W. Smith, whom she married March 23, 1940, died July 6, 1973. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Gail Smith Street of Lenox, MA; grandchildren: Trudy Street Karlson of Westborough, MA, Holly Paulette Kubli of New Lebanon, NY, and great-grandchildren Andrew Edison Kubli and Dakota Trong Kubli. Friends may call at the A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road in Atlanta Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to a graveside service in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Berkshire Place, 89 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201, to be used for staff enrichment, or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 369 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201
